Start with a target color reference
Send a Pantone code, physical sample, or clear product reference. Screen colors are useful for discussion, but final approval should be based on a physical sample under normal lighting.
Different materials absorb color differently
Sponge foam, velour fabric, ribbon, PU backing, and paper packaging do not show color in exactly the same way. A practical OEM plan allows small acceptable tolerance between materials.
Approve color before mass production
For private-label projects, approve the sponge color, logo color, and package color together before mass production. This avoids a beautiful sponge paired with mismatched packaging.
Keep records for repeat orders
Color formulas and approved samples should be kept for future replenishment. This makes repeat orders faster and helps keep your product line visually consistent.
